EPA honors LVIP
LVIP VII at
the Bethlehem Commerce Center won the prestigious national honor, The Phoenix
Award, in 2006. The Commerce Center was selected as one of 12 national brownfield
development sites recognized for excellence in transforming former industrial
and blighted land into productive new uses.
[This
project] proves that environmental protection and sustainable economic development
go hand-in-hand, said Donald Welsh, former EPA regional administrator. The
teams efforts to return this former industrial property back into productive
use while ensuring that the property is effectively cleaned up deserves special
recognition.
Celebrating the successful
